Hi, I’m Marilyn Gould

Over the past year I have found myself in the freezing cold, braving snowfalls, and sliding over the ice in winter, then attacked by mosquitoes and black flies in summer, all in the hopes of capturing a glimpse of nature’s beauty with my camera.

Whether it be birds, flowers, bees or spiders to name a few, I am finding all of them challenging to photograph. I Wish there was a secret to getting the insects and bees to stay still for longer periods of time, instead of  just seconds. I often stand motionless for long periods of time to get that right moment to click the shutter.

Most  of my photos are close up shots, known as macro photography, which is my passion…however,  there will be a few miscellaneous  picturesque shots , along with some photos  done in Sepia, and also in black-and-white.

I shall continue to strive to improve my skills, and will make every effort to capture nature’s beauty that surrounds us all.  It is just surprising what we look at, but really don’t see, when it comes to nature.

For those of you who do not know who Ansel Adams was, he was an American renowned scenic photographer, A Master of Photography and an environmentalist , best known for his black-and-white photographs of the American West, especially in Yosemite National Park.(February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984)
